Hello! My name is Nora Klein and I work as a photographer in central Germany and beyond. I take photos for national editorial offices, companies, landscape architects, agencies, and institutions.

Every project and every story has something special about it—making this visible is at the heart of my work.
After spending extended periods abroad, I studied photojournalism and documentary photography in Hanover and Aarhus. Since then, I have been working for national and international media outlets, producing reports, portraits, and visual essays on social issues.
One focus of my work is the photographic documentation of architecture and landscape architecture. I accompany projects in dialogue with planning offices and institutions and develop image series for competitions, publications, and digital media. My photographs are characterized by documentary clarity and a keen perception of spatial effects and mood.
At the same time, I am working on independent long-term projects on social issues. My first monograph on depression was published by Hatje Cantz Verlag in 2017. The photo book “Mal gut, mehr schlecht” (Some good, more bad) was nominated by the Stiftung Buchkunst for the 2017 Most Beautiful German Books award. In 2025, my eight-year long-term project “Wer bist du, Tod?” (Who Are You, Death?) was published by Hartmann Books; it was awarded the bronze medal of the German Photobook Prize 2025/2026. Numerous sponsors, including the Kulturwerk der VG-Bildkunst foundation, the ZEIT STIFTUNG BUCERIUS, the Kulturstiftung des Freistaats Thüringen, and BARMER, supported my projects.
